We are looking for a high energy, career minded professional who is well organized, able to manage the accounting functions of a company, and possesses a strong work ethic and a professional sense of integrity. The ideal candidate will have extensive Excel skills, AP and AR experience, and the drive to continually improve processes that drive results.
Working under the direction of the Controller and Accounting Manager, the Junior Accountant performs daily activities that quickly and accurately record revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities. The incumbent should be a highly-motivated self-starter with AP and AR experience. The Junior Accountant will:
Perform the monthly financial statement close process including bank reconciliations and other month end reports
Manage and facilitate collections process
Manage invoicing & accounts receivable process
Manage & facilitate AP process
Oversee customer payment processing
Maintain, develop, and improve internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
Complete ad hoc projects as needed by Controller & CEO
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3+ years hands-on accounting experience, preferably with midsize companies; software or technology firms a plus
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including Pivot Tables, If-then formulas, etc.), Word, Outlook, QuickBooks, Salesforce, etc.
Proactive, self-starter who takes initiative to drive results
Enjoys improving accounting processes and finding ways to work smarter
Organized and detail-oriented
Thrives when juggling multiple projects and meeting challenging deadlines
Demonstrates excellent communication skills and is a team player
