This position is scheduled to work be 24 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. It is eligible for part-time benefits. As a member of the Financial Services team, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for faculty, staff, union, and students.
• Perform pre-processing and post payroll audits to ensure accuracy, compliance and overall balancing. • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures. • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. • Perform research and analysis of time and labor issues. • Responsible for auditing time tracking compliance. • Process manual checks, voids, stop payments and direct deposit reversal when needed. • Manage and research Escheatments (payroll checks become “stale dates”). • Process Cost Center Chargeback forms and pay history requests. • Process and maintain the payroll office's ticketing system (iMeet Central Desktop). • Liaison for overflow of payroll responsibilities. • Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Education Requirements: Minimum Level of Education Required Associate Degree or related years of experience (at least 5)
Position Knowledge/Skills & Abilities Requirements: • At least 3-5 years of previous payroll processing experience • Must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills • Must have intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven ability to accurately enter a substantial amount of information quickly with a high degree of accuracy and consistency • Ability to take and execute direction from multiple sources and perform a variety of data tasks. • Must have previous documented capability for exceptional attention to detail • Ability to work well with a team • Must understand all aspects of payroll in regards to payroll laws and regulations • Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought & Action; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results • Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions • Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse students, staff, and faculty
