Manager - Project Management Office
The Manager, Project Management, is a proven leader in project management with an extensive track record of delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
This role manages the traditional staff associated with a Project Management Office including Business Analysts, Project, and Program Managers. This role architects and maintains processes to ensure organizational efficiency, open communications and optimized budgeting to meet an extensive set of business initiatives. The Manager, Project Management, will work collaboratively across groups to gain buy-in on project management documents and procedures tailored Parametric’s unique culture in a highly regulated industry. Demonstrated past experience launching significant procedural changes in a highly-matrixed technical environment is required.
Overall, this position requires a highly motivated, strategic and independent thinker who can pull from a background of extensive process-oriented experience (PMBOK, Waterfall, Agile, SDLC) to synthesize new “hybrid” methods focused on delivering value to Business stakeholders. The position works in a coordinated way to drive accountability and transparency, leading and mentoring a team of project managers and business analysts to create a PMO that manages critical IT and non-IT projects across the Enterprise.
Responsible for the overall direction of the PMO, including guidelines, planning, budgeting, costing, and risk assessment
Ensures consistency with corporate strategy and business goals. Responsible for internal client satisfaction with PMO efficacy
Create, implement, and maintain a project lifecycle and related processes and procedures. “Right size” project management processes to fit the project size, complexity, and technical team.
Manage and develop staff of project/program managers and business analysts
Establish project goals & metrics, determine future opportunities for change/improvements, assign individual responsibilities, and provide training opportunities for staff
Lead a senior executive committee tasked with approval and prioritization of technology initiatives
Oversee business continuity and vendor management initiatives
Bachelor’s degree required
7-10 years of Project Management experience managing technical and non-technical projects
5+ years experience in direct management, mentoring and coaching of a Project Management team
PMP, CAPM, or other Project Management certification a plus.
Advanced knowledge in software development and project management methodologies and possesses the ability to disseminate them to the team
Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received
Absolute passion for process improvement and open communication
Highly evolved meeting management and presentation skills.
Enthusiasm for driving a business case and translating technical, multi-layered projects for non-technical users
Ability to resolve conflict and foster teamwork
Financial services experienced highly desired.
