The Maryland Department of Health, Medical Care Programs, Office of Finance located in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Accountant Supervisor II. This position provides professional accounting support to an Accountant Manager II in the claiming, distribution, and reconciliation of Title XIX (Medicaid) and Title XXI (CHIP) federal funds and in compiling statistical enrollment and expenditure data. This position supervises and assists three Accountant Advanced positions and one Fiscal Account Supervisor position.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing and five years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles to include three years performing advanced duties in the areas of cost accounting, systems accounting, federal fund accounting, or bond and loan accounting. The successful applicant will have experience in compiling annual State budgets and in preparing/analyzing quarterly budget projections, experience in calculating and submitting federal cost allocation plans, and experience with managing federal grants.
