The Accounting Analyst is responsible for STAR billing drafts, managing daily cash flows, and collecting outstanding accounts receivable. S/he is accountable for daily efforts to bill and makes decisions about what gets billed.
Work Activities & Accountabilities
The below functions reflect the general details of the essential work activities and accountabilities of this position and are not all inclusive. Other activities may be assigned.
STAR Finance Champion. Draft bills for applicable engagements for biller approval, approve and process bills drafted by engagement teams, draft and send without engagement team input certain BizOps recurring engagements. Develops and implements process and procedures to ensure DSO of 70 days or less, restrict client service activities with A/R or WIP falls outside of acceptable terms, and holds people accountable to the applicable standards.
STAR Credit Contact. Run and communicate aging report to client service leadership. Hold client service teams accountable to collections on aged AR. Document client collection efforts.
Daily Cash Flow Management. Manages receipts, accounts payable and expense management. Lockbox daily accounting and postings. Approve expense requests in accordance with firm policy and office leadership guidelines. Recommend financial strategies to gain operational efficiencies to office leadership. Proactively identifies opportunities to improve daily cash flow management and leads the execution of those efforts.
Training. Develop and implement ongoing training of client service team members to ensure STAR is maximized by team members in their achievement of best in class DSO practices. Proactively identifies areas where existing training can be applied or new training can be developed to build appropriate skills and capabilities of others.
Financial Analysis.Provide monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to office leadership and recommend strategies to improve utilization, WIP and AR management, Realization, and average bill rate. Leads the executions of strategies developed and holds individuals accountable.
Collections.Actively contacts clients to collect outstanding A/R. Where needed, negotiate settlement terms for biller approval.
Technical Competencies. Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office Products is necessary. Regular use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, STAR, CRM, Adobe, and other internal systems.
