The Corporate Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist position is an integral part of the shared services group and will be responsible for overseeing all Accounts Payable tasks in the US and Canada ensuring they are completed in an accurate and timely fashion. Additional responsibilities include supporting management with measuring KPI’s, process improvements and other special projects. Due to the high level of automation, a good understanding of integrated computerized systems is required. The position interacts with associates in all levels of the company (from plant associates to upper management), and therefore excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Responsible for supporting the Account Payable functions including, the entry of supplier invoices, the processing of payments (including electronic and manual) and reconciliation of ERS supplier statements.
Monitor and reconcile intra- and inter-company transactions and balances
Review new supplier documentation for accuracy and compliance with company policy and IRS regulations
Monitor alerts from the Controls’ Force engine including double invoices, ghost invoices, ghost vendors, etc.
Provide audit support for AP Supervisor on all annual financial audit requests as it relates to AP and cash
Perform account payable services for other Freudenberg companies in the North America region
Maintain KPI’s and provide monthly reporting to AP Supervisor
Target areas for continuous process improvements
Target vendors for automated payments (ACH) and evaluated receipt settlement (ERS)
Participate and oversee Accounts Payable projects and opportunities as assigned
Provide excellent customer service and be back up for AP process as necessary
Monitor and maintain process documentation to keep up to date
Resolve disputes with internal customers, vendors, etc.
Analyze AP aging on a regular basis to keep clean and up to date
Support Corporate Finance Team and AP Supervisor with reconciliation of accounts payable general ledger accounts.
Act as Administrator for travel expense, image repository and automated workflow systems, as well as p-card website
Perform periodic internal audits on p-card transactions to ensure compliance to company policy
Responsible for daily cash pool bank reconciliation
B.S. degree in accounting or other business related field
Minimum of 3+ years in Accounts Payable functions
Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles
Must have experience with SAP or similar ERP system for a similar sized company
Strong computer and business solutions software skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Direct experience with AP systems, including automated processes for invoice processing, expense reports and bank payments
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, vendors, internal customers and upper management
Comfortable in a fast pace and highly automated environment and ability to drive continuous process improvements
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Audit support experience preferably with a public reporting company
General accounting experience in multi-location company of similar size and complexity to FNST
