Assistant Vice President – Accounting and Budget & Forecasting
The Assistant Vice President of Accounting and Budget & Forecasting reports to the Vice President of Financial Support Services and provides strategic leadership of the accounting and budget and forecasting functions. The successful candidate will effectively implement accounting and financial administration policies, direct various activities the Bank undertakes with the budget and forecasting process, and ensure the Bank is recognized as a Federal Reserve System leader in these functions.
Ensuring the planning, development and implementation of accounting and budget and forecasting strategies, policies, and procedures ensuring practices comply with evolving accounting and budget and forecasting requirements, Federal Reserve System requirements, and industry trends.
Preparing, presenting and interpreting financial reports and budget and forecasting information for executive level briefings and presentations to management, directors, national business offices and the Board of Governors staff.
Leading the development of the multi-year budget for the Bank on an annual basis and working with senior management and the business and other support areas to ensure that the budget supports the Bank’s strategic objectives.
Attracting, developing and retaining a high caliber professional staff with diverse capabilities, and developing successors and talent pools for key roles.
Developing and executing a strategic plan for the functions that includes relevant metrics to measure performance.
Leading transformational changes within the functions in the delivery of innovative services and business solutions through strategic partnerships with stakeholders.
Creating an environment that rewards, recognizes, and implements innovative ideas that positively impacts performance for the Bank and the functions.
Influencing Federal Reserve System accounting and budget and forecasting direction and policy through collaborating in and leading work groups and initiatives within the Federal Reserve System and the Bank.
Continuing to strengthen the department’s reputation for objectivity, integrity and value-added work product within the District and at a Federal Reserve System level.
Actively engaging professionally within the region and nationally to develop strong personal contacts with leaders of key external stakeholder groups and organizations.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance. Certified Public Accountant designation (CPA Certification) is required.
A minimum of 10 years related experience with at least 5 years of management experience or leadership experience at the officer level with the Federal Reserve System or the equivalent level of job responsibility within another organization.
Substantive accounting and finance knowledge and experience in dealing with difficult and complex issues with a strong record of accomplishment.
Demonstrated ability to develop productive and collaborative relationships with senior level management, peers and other key stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with and build consensus among diverse constituents whose interests sometimes compete.
Experience in managing and developing people, projects, and programs effectively, obtaining optimal outcomes.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Highly motivated professional demonstrating sound judgment and integrity.
