Reporting to DRI's Assistant Controller, the Accountant will perform a variety of professional level accounting duties including preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. This position will coordinate and supervise various accounting activities including banking, purchasing card program, and cash receipts and will also assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and audit workpapers for DRI and DRI Research Foundation. This position is expected to provide highly responsible assistance to the Assistant Controller and serve as backup to the Assistant Controller.
A major responsibility of this position will be to manage cardholder accounts via JPMorgan PaymentNet and to monitor the procurement card verification business process in Workday, as well as act as final approval of all transactions. This position is expected to work with the DRI Development office and the Controller to ensure contributions are properly recorded on a daily basis. He or she will also prepare computer loan, payroll clearing, miscellaneous customer invoices, endowment, and other miscellaneous reconciliations on a monthly basis. This individual will be expected to access Bank of America’s Cashpro to deposit checks remotely, initiate wire payments, and pull reports on a daily basis. He or she will also act as the NRAT Program Administrator and will be responsible for staying current on all regulations affecting non-resident alien tax information. This position is located in Reno, Nevada.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major course work in Accounting
At least 2 years of progressive experience in professional accounting
An understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Working knowledge of governmental financial reporting standards
Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tact and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical thinking skills
Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
