Directs the organization’s financial, accounting and planning practices. Responsibilities include safeguarding the financial and administrative resources of the organization. Participates in the attainment of strategic organizational objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Establish and enforce corporate financial and accounting systems and controls.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial, accounting and operating reports to meet the varying needs of the organization, as well as provide additional statistical or analytical data as requested.
Assist in the development of a comprehensive annual operating and capital budget for all GISVNNI divisions and departments and subsidiaries. Establish the quality standards to which all participating personal are to conform, and oversee for compliance.
Prepare the financial information necessary to support the development of the strategic Plan.
Evaluate, implement and maintain vendor supplied financial or accounting packages.
Supervise the Accounting and Payroll functions, to ensure timely and accurate execution of all departmental operations with appropriate separation of accountabilities.
Promote within the Finance department effective workflow, high morale, active communication, and strong staff development.
Identify, develop, implement and document in writing all department policies and procedures.
Responsible for preparation for the annual audit and coordinating with the designated audit firm in its efforts to conduct the audit and produce a management report.
Analyze the general economic, business and financial conditions to determine and/or anticipate their impact on the organization’s policies and operations.
Supervise the department purchasing activities to ensure competitiveness of vendors and accuracy of inventory.
Assist in the management of all tax and not-for-profit reporting requirements including reports to the IRS, the California FTB, and any other local, state or federal agencies.
Secure all governmental licenses and pay all required fees pursuant thereto.
Achieve departmental and appropriate corporate objectives, both tactical and strategic.
Ensures department compliance with all GISVNNI policies, CARF standards, safety and security regulations, and governmental laws and regulations.
Participates as part of the Executive Management team.
Promote cooperation between and among departments and divisions throughout the organization.
Serve as member of the Corporate Compliance Committee.
Support the organization by producing unique or specialized information, reports or products requested of the Finance department.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
MBA or CPA license (active or inactive) preferred
7+ years of experience in administrative accounting areas, with supervisory experience required.
Knowledge of accounting and financial practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS).
Computer literacy, including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation applications.
Supervisory and motivational skills.
Strong organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
Good decision-making skills.
Ability to work well with all levels of personnel
Ability to maintain complete confidentiality.
Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities, while remaining calm in high-stress situations.
Possess strong ethical standards, honesty, and integrity.
