CliftonLarsonAllen's Public Sector Group (PSG) seeks an accounting/finance professional, with experience in Nonprofit accounting, finance or operations, who desires a career direction from accounting/finance to consulting; to serve clients and help build our national nonprofit practice. This position is responsible for direct client service, managing and/or participating in client work, and supporting business development within our group's geographic, service, and sub-sector specialization strategies. The Senior Consultant is an integral member of the Public Sector Group and works on multiple and varied projects and ongoing client engagements in the areas of finance and accounting, strategy, and operations for a range of nonprofit clients. We are specifically interested in candidates with experience working with or in the nonprofit setting in financial and operational management roles. This would include having had full management of the accounting cycle; along with having demonstrated experience in being impactful in the operations of a nonprofit.
This position requires moderate national travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
With direction from principals and managing consultants who are leading various projects, the Senior Consultant will:
Build solid, effective client relationships and manage day-to-day interaction with clients.
Identify client needs and work with a team to design and implement solutions.
Lead team-based engagements to help clients understand and improve their financial and operational performance and health.
Prepare budgets, monthly financial statements, and trending analysis for ongoing clients.
Identify, synthesize and present findings and recommendations in clear and concise written and verbal formats for a variety of potential client audiences (management and staff, board members, funders, etc.)
Assist with project management such as organizing internal and client meetings, coordinating agendas and meeting documents, tracking project hours and deliverables, etc.
Demonstrate productivity by working efficiently and effectively; execute engagements with operational excellence.
Effectively represent the array of CLA's capabilities and how they can help clients achieve their goals.
Initiate, lead, and participate in internal projects to improve PSG and CLA.
