We are currently looking to fill the recently created role of Senior Accountant – External Reporting in Lowell, MA. This role is a salaried position reporting to the Assistant Controller and is primarily responsible for assisting with quarterly press releases, 10-Qs, and 10-Ks. as well as, interacting and working with various departments and levels of management, internal and external auditors and legal counsel to maintain complete and accurate financial statements and disclosures.
What you’ll do: • Drive the quarterly production of SEC documents within prescribed deadlines, including preparing and/or reviewing and maintaining supporting workpapers, and coordinating the timeline with accounting team members • Assist in researching, documenting and implementing new or updated financial accounting standards and practices (“GAAP”), monitoring GAAP and SEC developments and preparing updates for management, • Become the subject matter expert on our SEC reporting documents and software including maintaining EDGAR and XBRL filings, • Prepare the accounting and disclosures for the Company’s equity compensation, • Prepare quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis • Maintain department-wide policies and procedures that document internal controls over financial reporting, demonstrating a broad understanding of the overall SOX control environment, • And assisting with projects, process improvements and other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need: • Demonstrated attention-to-detail, as well as strong analytical and organizational skills • Ability to take ownership and drive assignments to completion • Ability to work closely with others as a contributing member in a team environment • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC best practices applicable to accounting, disclosures and controls. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • 3 – 4 years of experience in external reporting, preferably public accounting experience with independent audit work on SEC filers, or • Equivalent combination of education and experience. • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly recommended.
