Responsible for collecting data from new and existing loan customers in order to make credit decisions based on repayment, collateral and past loan history issues.
Essential job duties include, but not limited to:
Analyzes applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
Meets with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to answer questions about the process.
Explains to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.
Reviews loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
Approves loans within specified limits, and refer loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.
Handles customer complaints and takes appropriate action to resolve them.
Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customers' needs.
Reviews and updates credit and loan files.
Submits applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
Computes payment schedules.
Analyzes potential loan markets and develops referral networks to locate prospects for loans.
Sets credit policies, credit lines, procedures and standards in conjunction with senior managers.
Markets bank products to individuals and firms, promoting bank services that may meet customers' needs.
Works with clients to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals.
Negotiates payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans.
Prepares reports to send to customers whose accounts are delinquent, and forward irreconcilable accounts for collector action.
Develops customer and referral networks, identifying and pursuing opportunities for loan sales.
Packages and obtains approval for USDA, SBA, and FarmerMac loan products.
Conducts on-site inspections at customer locations to determine customer performance.
Represents the bank in a positive manner at community/organizational activities.
Responsible for knowing and following Bank Security Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) regulations, policies and procedures.
Other duties as required.
Required: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) or equivalent work experience
Field of Study: Business/Financial/Accounting.
5 plus years of experience in banking industry; including experience in commercial banking, commercial lending, and credit underwriting
