The Financial Reporting team reports corporate financial information and drives the related requirements for financial statements and accompanying notes.The Technical Accounting Group, within the Financial Reporting team, performs accounting research, writes accounting policies, implements new accounting pronouncements, and provides accounting advice to the wider Financial Reporting & Accounting team.
Manage the Company’s Technical Accounting function including the following:
Point of contact and face of Financial Reporting & Accounting (FR&A) for Technical Accounting matters;
Participate in significant new business initiatives to assess and advise on accounting implications;
Draft technical accounting and regulatory memorandums that document accounting conclusions reached for one-off transactions;
Develop effective processes to ensure proactive communication and awareness of material outstanding accounting matters impacting the wider Financial Reporting & Accounting team;
Monitor compliance with accounting and regulatory standards, including keeping abreast of changes and new standards from the FASB, SEC and other regulatory authorities;
Oversee implementation of new or changed technical/regulatory standards, processes, and regulatory reporting requirements, including the implementation of the new Revenue Recognition, Leases, and Credit accounting standards;
Train key stakeholders on the implications of the new and changed standards;
Implement and update processes as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance with accounting and regulatory standards in an effective, efficient, accurate, and timely manner;
Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors and various committees of the Board of Directors;
Write and review technical accounting footnotes for all financial statements issued by the Company;
Perform accurate and timely benchmarking studies ofdisclosure best practices amongst Company’s peers;
Manage up to two staff accountants.
7 to 10+ years of progressive financial reporting and accounting experience, including major public accounting firm experience, industry experience a plus.

Adept and advanced skills to filter, group, map, and sort voluminous data from accounting systems (V-lookups, macros, etc.)

Education, Training &/or Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
MBA, CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
