AIS Healthcare™ seeks a full-time Assistant Controller for a full-time position in Ridgeland, MS. (Candidates with C.P.A. firm and auditing experience a plus!)
This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial statements in accordance with company policies and best practices. It will include leading and working jointly with other local accounting staff to accomplish the financial and organizational objectives and working with the Controller to lead, manage, and direct accounting activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; 7-10 years of experience in related accounting and financial experience, including Operation Risk Assessment, Financial Reporting, and Internal Controls; Public Accounting & Auditing experience preferred; Experience with Great Plains accounting software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES: Oversee and manage corporate accounting function including payroll, equity, and A/P - Lead monthly close process to issue timely (monthly, quarterly, annual) - Complete financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards and perform accompanying price and volume variance analysis - Monitor and assess the on-going internal process to push for efficiency, automation, and accuracy of the financial systems - Assisting with external audits and completion of the company’s tax filings - Prepare journal entries and run general ledger postings - Assemble operating and capital budgets for review, including supporting analysis - Ensure accounting for construction in progress and capital expenditure is completed correctly - Ensure the integrity of GL Model is maintained - Review AP ensuring entry and account distributions are correct - Ensure compliance with all internal controls and policies - Facilitate the driving of accounting initiatives and a variety of financial analyses and special projects - Train staff on proper company procedures - Works with third parties to develop, update, and implement control environment - Assists controller with a variety of tasks and projects as needed - Perform other job related duties as assigned.
