Lead Application Developer - Identity & Access Management

The Lead Application Developer for the Identity & Access Management team is responsible for maintaining the suite of IAM applications within FHLBC. This individual will oversee the lifecycle of these applications, from onboarding, to maintaining currency, to sunsetting. This individual will be responsible for performing development work but will also manage the backlog of user requests and forecast future upgrades/other needs for these applications and manage the prioritization of work, in coordination with the IAM Manager and other team members, appropriately.
Responsible for writing and/or reviewing business technical requirements. Responsible for determining prioritization of work with input from manager and other team members.
Provides technical and project leadership with application design and/or development as well as defect resolution.
Responsible for assigning tasks in the development of bank applications and seeing things through from beginning to end of the project.
Writes or maintains application code per technical specifications.
Provides 3rd level application support.
Compile deployment or build packages, and follow up on their completion.
Provide timely reports on the status of projects as well as any unforeseen issues to management and to business units.
Serves as subject matter expert on business and technical issues as well as on Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Will mentor, train, and indirectly oversee other team members.
Provides documentation of change management and department policies and procedures.
MS Office product (notably Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) knowledge.
Requires expert knowledge of Windows server, SQL Server, .NET, VB, and Powershell.
5-7 years technical application development experience, ideally in the Identity & Access Management space.
7-9 years of experience necessary without a degree
2 or 4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:
Must have outstanding communication (verbal, written, and listening) and presentation skills.
Need to expert knowledge of software development methodologies (such SDLC).
Incumbent must possess in-depth understanding of financial business acumen.
Will require the ability to be a self-starter and to work independently as well as in a team setting.
A high level of integrity and dependability are necessary to perform this role.
Requires a great deal of attention to detail.
This person must be possess excellent leadership skills.
