We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team in Lowell, MA. Responsibilities include general accounting duties such as the monthly consolidation and close process, which involves preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation research and documentation, including preparing financial summary memorandums included in the monthly Board package. The successful candidate will also work under the direction of the Senior Accountant to maintain, prepare and/or validate various financial work papers, reports and ratios.
This position will utilize various software programs to post entries, track and gather data, improve efficiency and streamline workflow and report production. Working in a highly regulated industry with a committed focus on internal controls over financial reporting, this individual will prepare or assist with reports and schedules included in Company’s financial press releases, as well as quarterly/annual SEC and other regulatory financial filings while assisting with projects, including the implementation of new accounting standards or regulatory requirements.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and experience working in the accounting field, preferably an accounting department. The ideal candidate is driven to achieve results, and possesses strong analytical, technological and organizational skills. A detailed-oriented individual with a proven capability to work under minimal supervision, the ideal candidate also demonstrates strong communication skills, including the ability to work closely with others as a contributing member in a team environment. This individual works efficiently in a fast-paced team environment, effectively prioritizing and multi-tasking to meet deadlines and complete projects, and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is required.
