Reinvestment Fund is currently seeking a Chief Assurance & Risk Officer (CARO) to join the senior leadership team in its Philadelphia, PA headquarters to oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal quality assurance and control management systems and processes.

The CARO is a newly created position on the senior leadership team tasked with overseeing the totality of quality assurance and control as the Reinvestment Fund continues to grow in size and complexity. This position is a proactive response to creating an enterprise quality assurance and control management function that operates across the organization as a whole. Reinvestment Fund operates with a strong culture of compliance, accountability, and transparency, and the CARO will be a leader in that culture and foster its development and adaptation as the organization grows. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert on enterprise quality assurance and control who has an appetite for action and team leadership. The Reinvestment Fund operates in a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. The CARO will play a key role in providing thoughtful counsel and guidance on new initiatives envisioned with regard to establishing best practices for quality assurance and control.
The CARO will develop the necessary processes and then ensure the organization remains within the established protocols. The CARO will also work with other members of the senior management team in developing and implementing quality assurance and control strategies for the company. This will require strong consultative and collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization, especially with the senior leadership team.
The CARO will lead projects to develop quality assurance and control strategies for key strategic initiatives. S/he will conduct custom strategic assessments, maintain an ongoing awareness of emerging quality assurance and control best practices, and consult with subject matter experts as needed. S/he will report on new practices and/or opportunities and assist management to assess and respond to those. Moreover, s/he will identify and address quality assurance and control gaps in the organization, recommend solutions, develop polices and standard reporting mechanisms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. S/he is responsible for developing and conducting internal quality assurance and control reviews.
Business degree (undergraduate and/or advanced such as MBA a plus). Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position overseeing quality assurance and compliance preferably in financial services. Minimum 10 to 12 years of compliance and regulatory experience, ideally in a regulated and compliance-oriented organization, including familiarity with federal, state, local and other private and public grant and funding programs.
