The Finance / STAR Coordinator champions practice management, manages daily cash flows and financial analysis required to collect on outstanding accounts receivable. S/he is accountable for daily efforts to bill and drives the engagement team to bill in a timely manner. This position works directly with our Private Sector and Public Sector BizOps Outsourcing practice. This person could be officed in either the Minneapolis or Medina CLA offices.Work Activities and Accountabilities:
The below functions reflect the general details necessary to describe the essential work activities and accountabilities of this position and are not all inclusive. Other activities may be assigned.
Practice Management: Office/Regional Leader/contact on all STAR matters, such as new client set up, engagement rolling, billing, invoices and statements, client WIP and A/R questions, time and expense monitoring. S/he is directly linked to National STAR Finance Team for support and training. Proactively keeps local office apprised of STAR functionalities and upgrades. Conducts training to ensure STAR is maximized by all team members.
Daily Cash Flow Management: Manage cash receipts in lockbox and/or locally, posting to AR accounts. Manage accounts payable, vendor relations and check requests. Assist engagement teams with timely billing. Ensure appropriate expense reporting by teams in accordance with firm policy and office leadership guidelines. May assist with expense approvals and corporate credit card reconciliation.
Financial Analysis: Active follow up of aging A/R with engagement leaders, which may include direct interaction with clients. Active follow up with engagement leaders on large WIP (work in process) jobs that need to be billed. Support the Managing Principals, Operations Director and team leads with proactive analysis of production, profitability and overall financial performance on a weekly basis. Assist with implementation of firm wide financial processes and initiatives.
