This position is responsible for executing plans and objectives that drive the attraction, engagement, retention and motivation of top talent. Responsible for the development, review, implementation, and administration of various compensation programs and processes, including but not limited to base pay administration, annual incentive plans, long term incentives, job evaluations, market pricing, survey submission, and merit processing. Supports the development of position profiles, evaluation of jobs, the collection of market data, and the development of pay structures and merit budgets. Participates as an integral part of a team to support strategic initiatives to achieve results. Works collaboratively with internal and external partners. Consistently looks for ways to perform work in an efficient, effective manner and keeps the pulse of current trends around compensation and rewards. Builds a robust analytical toolkit and deliverables to support Avista’s compensation philosophy, business needs and maintains compliance with laws and regulations. This position also serves as the subject matter expert on compensation program management and administration, handles issues with medium to large scope and higher levels of complexity, sensitivity and/or visibility within the organization. May be responsible for executive compensation plans including but not limited to equity plans and preparation of materials for Board of Directors Committee meetings.
Requires BA/BS in a relevant discipline (business administration, human resources, finance, information technology) or equivalent experience.
Requires at least one year of relevant work experience in compensation analysis, reporting and design. Additional financial/business acumen as well as other HR disciplines would be beneficial.
Knowledge of federal, state and local government wage and hour regulations and employment practices.
Prior experience with UltiPro and/or query tools such as Cognos reports a plus.
Knowledge of MS Office, advanced Excel skills with knowledge of formulas and model building desirable.
Innovative thinker with excellent communication skills.
Ability to successfully adapt to change and shift in priorities. Proven ability to handle multiple projects at the same time with high degree of tact and confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and to take initiative. Other combinations of experience and/or education may be considered.
