The Bookkeeper or Controller will have the following responsibility:
Establishing and maintenance of a financial records system for the company in Quick Books or a similar system to prepare monthly financial statements on a cash basis, prepare periodic cash flow projections, maintain cost or project accounting for grants and initiatives, and manage company accounts payable and receivable.
Interact regularly with state and local governments as a part of managing the grant with these entities.
Primary contact with the Company’s external auditors
The staff liaison to the Company’s board of directors’ audit committee.
Interact with the payroll company and administer the company’s 401(k) plan.
Manage the company’s donor database system (Trailblazer), including generating periodic reports and mailing lists, and producing pledge payment reminders.
Other duties assigned periodically, such as supporting information technology or human resources needs from time to time and being a collaborative member of a group that pitches in cross-functionally to accomplish a broad range of emergent tasks.
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) required
5+ years of experience in accounting.
Demonstrated competency with Quick Books or similar software.
Computer literate, functional knowledge of Microsoft Office and similar applications
