A Better Chance is seeking a forward-thinking finance leader who is committed to excellence and has a passion for building sustainable business practices for long term growth and success. The leadership team at A Better Chance is looking to you to manage the annual budget process and provide timely, accurate financial reports and variance analyses. You will also oversee the performance of the organization’s investment managers working with the Finance and Investment Committee. You will work with external auditors to provide all records, schedules, reports and information needed for the annual financial audit. Finally, you will manage relationships with and oversee the performance of the vendors who administer payroll, benefits administration, regulatory filings and the organization’s information technology systems.
Bachelor's Degree, formal education in accounting required with CPA and/or MBA preferred
Minimum five years in an accounting/ financial management position for an organization with assets greater than $2 million. Supervisory experience is required and experience working with and staffing Board Committees is desired;
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting;
Experience in financial management and accounting, including experience in audit, compliance, forecasting and budget;
Experience with fund accounting, grant and financial reporting requirements for pertinent funding sources and regulatory agencies;
Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret and financial statements, budgets and forecasts;
Proficiency in the use of information technology (Windows Office environment - word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet, accounting and donor management systems with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge and Raisers’ Edge preferred).
