The Director of Management Advisory Services is charged with supporting the department’s mission of providing assistance to the campus community on audits, issues and training related to compliance and/or general business practices.
This position is responsible for the Management Advisory Services (MAS) office and will serve as the MAS point of contact for the campus, providing assurance and consulting services to management of the University’s departments regarding internal, business, fiscal, and operational accountability and compliance.
Under minimal supervision by the Executive Director of Financial Operations, the Director will:
• Supervise all Management Advisory Services (MAS) staff. • Handle complex and specialized financial and operational reviews. • Serve as the audit liaison on appropriate audits including State Legislative Audit and delegate this role, as appropriate, on other audits. • Serve as the primary resource for financial analysis, handle high level initiatives. • Oversee and create associated training programs. • Conduct strategic planning and conduct campus outreach. • Coordinate audits for non-research activities with internal and external auditors.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or an equivalent field. • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience with financial, management, records and procedures; establishing internal controls; analyzing and interpreting financial information and reports and recommending management action. • An in-depth knowledge of GAAP and federal compliance requirements, including four (4) years of specialized experience in college, university, or government accounting. • Five (5) years of leadership experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) required.
