SPR Accounting group provides accounting, financial reporting, and payroll services department-wide and is seeking to hire a part-time (80%) Accounting Management Systems Analyst (MSA) to join the team. This position will serve in a critical role performing technical liaison between users of various Point of Sale Systems (POS), Accounting, and Citywide Treasury Operations.
SPR uses POS systems to transact business with the public. Community centers, pools, event scheduling, athletic scheduling and a few other operations are currently using the CLASS system, while golf uses a separate POS that integrates into STRATAGO. ACTIVENET is currently being implemented and will replace the CLASS system.
The Management Systems Analyst will be the Accounting subject matter expert for POS integration into the Citywide Financial System (People Soft 9.2.) In this role, the MSA will interface with department staff, as required, to design and prepare upload files and ensure that these are accurately reflected in People Soft. The MSA produces reports that verify the accuracy of the data and investigates/resolves any issues and maintains work flows and processes.
Perform duties as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for POS systems that upload into or interface with City of Seattle financial systems (People Soft 9.2)
Prepare, review, analyze and submit daily upload files to Treasury for transactions originating in Class, ActiveNet, and Stratago.
Monitor and review files uploaded in People Soft 9.2 for timeliness and accuracy.
Design and coordinate tools and processes to streamline operations.
Prepare, distribute, and explain analytical reports that reconcile the various systems.
Interface with operations staff to troubleshoot issues and resolve discrepancies.
Develop testing protocols and implement same to confirm that the financial reporting elements of operational systems are working as required and/or designed.
Develop and maintain detailed work flows and processes for all elements of operational systems that interface with People Soft 9.2.
Interface with users of POS systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of refunds, payments, fee reductions, scholarships, and adjustments.
Interface with Treasury to develop and maintain allocation codes as required

Minimum Qualifications: Requires two years in systems, operational, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to performs he work of the class).
Two years' experience in POS systems (preferably CLASS or ACTIVENET) use.
Requires an advanced level of working knowledge in Excel and PeopleSoft platforms.
Experience in records management, meeting audit requirements, and managing high transactional data base systems.
Experience in analyzing and reconciling multiple interfacing systems.
Understanding of and/or experience in POS operations, specifically related to recreation and athletic operations.
Familiarity with GASB pronouncements on financial reporting.
Familiarity with ACCESS database system.
Effectively handle multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
Work well with a diverse team and independently.
Demonstrate excellent analytical, oral, written, critical and creative thinking skills and problem- solving skills.

A current valid Washington State Driver's or equivalent mobility is required. May be required to travel between work sites up to 25% of the time.
