The Staff Accountant manages outgoing bills and invoices, as well as manages incoming payments on behalf of the Association. This position also maintains financial records and transactions using Intact. This position is also responsible for the monthly reconciliation of our online revenue accounts which includes bank reconciliations.
Maintains and processes all transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts.
Prepares journal entries.
Processes the lockbox and online revenue, allocating those funds to the proper accounts.
Performs all necessary account, bank, and other reconciliations.
Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions, resolving discrepancies and disputes.
Serves as primary point of contact for inquiries regarding AP and AR from vendors.
Ensures that all payments are made in accordance with the Association’s policies.
Ensures that all payments are sent on time, according to the weekly schedule.
Prepares and mails invoices to customers.
Organizes, enters, and files deposit receipts.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Educational or occupational background in accounting required.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including general finance principles and technical accounting skills.
Proficiency in web based accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Experience in a professional association preferred.
Demonstrated communication, customer service, project management skills and a self-starter who can work independently.
