Rockland Trust is currently seeking a Vice President and Director of Financial Reporting. The candidate will be responsible for managing the Company’s financial reporting process and the analysis of emerging accounting issues. Candidate must produce timely and accurate filings of external reports for the SEC, FDIC, Federal Reserve and Massachusetts Division of Banks, as well as produce internal financial statements for the Board of Directors. In addition to this reporting role, the candidate will also oversee and administer the Company’s stock compensation plans as well as involvement in activities aligned with the Company’s strategic initiatives on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage staff to ensure the timely filing of complete and accurate financial statements.
Review SEC filings, including presentation of filings to the Audit Committee and be a key member of Management’s disclosure committee.
Research, document, and implement all new or complex accounting guidance relevant to the Company, such as; the accounting for derivatives, purchase accounting, equity compensation, accounting for income taxes and fair value accounting.
Critical team member in setting strategy by providing pivotal accounting support on potential key initiatives.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA with at least 5-10 years of relevant work experience in accounting related activities; or its equivalent
Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and propose solutions
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
