The Grants Accountant manages Federal, State, and private grants. Reconciliation of all financial aid accounts in the college's financial system. Responsible for financial compliance with associated federal and state laws and regulations, and the college's policies and procedures. Performs and/or coordinates complex professional duties in the creation and maintenance of restricted fund accounting records, the verification, and documentation of restricted fund financial transactions and assists in the preparation and management of restricted account budgets.
Experience in grants and other restricted fund financial management is preferred. The ideal candidate will have senior level accounting experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing is essential for the success of this position. Candidate must have a working knowledge of automated accounting systems, specifically data input and internal controls; an understanding of data processing and integration as they relate to financial reporting and supervisory experience in a financial environment. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, a moderate level of competency with Microsoft Excel is a must. Knowledge of judgments regarding compliance with these regulations. Experience in developing and implementing financial control systems is also preferred. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field plus three (3) years directly related accounting experience.
