Manages, enhances and monitors the Company’s internal control environment through development and effective communication of polices, processes and procedures.
Oversees an effective internal and external financial reporting and analysis function to facilitate decision-making and to ensure compliance with GAAP. Provides direction to the Director of Taxation, Assistant Controller, and Accounting Manager on internal and external financial reporting matters, and serves as the lead contact with the Company’s independent auditors. In conjunction with the Company’s Project Management Office, establishes and monitors compliance with rules for revenue recognition (e.g., percent-complete methodology and treatment of contingencies and change orders).
Oversees financial reporting and analysis for the Company’s lenders.
Partners with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors to execute their charter and directly support the establishment and execution of the annual Internal Audit Plan. Oversees the activities of the Internal Audit Manager, to monitor and measure compliance with Company policies.
Co-leads the Company’s budgeting and forecasting process with the Corporate Treasurer.
Serves as a member of the Business Integrity Committee, which is chartered with ensuring that employees adhere to the Company’s core values, safety principles and Code of Conduct, creating and maintaining an ethical, safe and respectful work environment.
Serves on the Enterprise Risk Management Committee to identify key risks and develop and implement effective mitigation plans.
Serves as a member of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Steering Committee, and oversees the financial management team in implementation of the new JD Edwards/Oracle system in fiscal year 2020. Serves as a key conduit between Business Unit finance leadership and the H&MSS Information & Performance Systems group to develop processes and reports to meet operational and customer needs.
Facilitates a well-defined process for evaluation of M&A opportunities and joint venture partners, including due diligence.
Provides other value added services to the team to assist the Company in meeting its strategic and financial objectives.
Serves as a key participant in the planning phase of large, high-profile projects and in monthly Project Status Reviews of major jobs.
Actively supports the Company’s safety culture and its focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum requirement of Bachelor of Science in financial management, accounting or related field
Active CPA license required
Minimum 15 years financial management experience required
Public accounting and/or internal audit experience required
Construction industry financial management experience required
Proven leadership abilities in implementing sophisticated financial information systems
Power-User skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional preferred
