The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Finance staff in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities will include handling accounts payable, cash receipts, preparing the annual Form 1099s filings, assisting with various sections of the IRS Form 990, the annual audit, preparing journal entries, verifying accuracy of grant coding, reconciling corporate credit card statements, reconciling bank statements, performing various other accounting duties, and providing administrative support.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate with an undergraduate degree in accounting with two plus years of accounting experience. The ideal candidate is CPA eligible and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate should also be detail-oriented, organized, and work well independently and as part of a team.
