The Saint Paul Port Authority has an exciting opening for a recent or upcoming college graduate to join our Finance & Operations Team in the newly created role of Manager of Accounting & Business Strategies. This exciting new position is a critical part of the long-term organizational growth plan and will collaborate closely with CFO/COO and Controller to learn, maintain and create continuous improvement strategies for the Accounting and IT processes for the Port Authority and to prepare for growth of the consulting arm of our business. It is expected that the incumbent will be able to make an immediate contribution to the routine operations of the Accounting function and will be engaged and invested in applying their recent education and professional licensure in a meaningful way to grow the Port Authority’s Accounting capabilities and advance their own career. Approve General Journal Entries to ensure accuracy of recording transactions in the system:
Reconcile bank statements:
Code and enter Accounts Payable invoices:
Maintain Port Authority’s debt service system and coordinate debt service payments and Journal Entries for bonds and notes payable:
Maintain schedule of the Port Authority’s various entities’ fixed assets:
A variety of special / growth projects representing career development for the incumbent including assisting with designing and implementing systems for loan management, investment management, and property leasing and management.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting – completed or achieved within 12 months of hire
CPA License - current or in process
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Exceptional work ethic, motivation and integrity
Demonstrated interest in real estate development, economic development, and creating vibrant thriving communities in St. Paul and the surrounding areas
Knowledge of computer programs and systems (Excel, Word, accounting software, etc.)
