Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting an Accounts Payable Coordinator in our Richmond office. This position processes all accounts payable related invoice entry and prepares checks to vendor and reimbursements firm wide. Provide consistently high service level, balancing customer service needs with adherence to firm policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and professional practice/ethical rules.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Reviews and accurately processes accounts payable vendor invoices for timely entry and payment in accordance with firm’s guidelines and compliance with purchasing policies in the accounting system. Ensures proper approvals are obtained. Investigates and accurately responds to exceptions and inquires. 2. Investigates and accurately responds to departmental inquiries regarding invoice status, provide backup documentation as requested and communicates firm procedures in a timely and professional manner. 3. Issues live checks and ACH payments per the departmental schedules; ensuring accurate delivery as instructed. Processes trust payments requested as instructed timely and accurately. 4. Responds professionally, timely and accurately to all inquiries. Communicating the firm’s best practice guidelines clearly and consistently. Communicates with team members consistently per departmental procedures. 5. Provides firm wide coverage for all AP duties as needed. Ensuring timely and accurate responses given to all requests.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: College degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of three years general accounting experience and two years automated accounts payable experience required. Other Minimum Qualifications: Working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and 10 key calculator. Typing proficiency with speed and accuracy. Strong organizational and analytical skills required. Requires lifting and loading of check stock into check printer, frequent trips to retrieve reports from the printer room, scan items and packing boxes for offsite storage. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above, with or without reasonable accommodation. Examples include: ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed for transcription, extensive reading and input (typing) of information into computer. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication.
