The individual in this position will be a key contributor to the daily accounting and finance functions of the Bank. This individual will work closely with the Controller and Bank management in assisting with maintaining the related control environment and financial, regulatory and tax compliance reporting operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Assists with and prepares regulatory reports at the Bank and holding company level.
•Assists Controller with managing the evolution of the Bank’s financial information system and ancillary systems.
•Assists in the preparation and development of the Bank’s operating and capital budgets. Analyses the Bank’s operating budget on a monthly basis and provides report to Controller identifying areas for improvement.
•Assists the Controller and others in preparing recurring and ad-hoc leadership and management reports.
•Gathers and analyzes financial related information for financial forecasts, budgets, month-end close and internal/external exams or audits.
•Monitors income and expense accounts and performs analysis to ensure financial accuracy.
•Participates in daily general ledger balancing, GL controls and recurring GL reporting.
•Reconciles various inter-company accounts.
•Assists in maintenance all investment, prepaid, accrual and fixed asset accounting.
•Assists with preparation of and files various income, sales, personal property and withholding tax returns and related agency payments.
•Various account payable functions; assists with vendor setup, codes invoices and prepares and processes check runs.
•Assists with the preparation of financial data for the annual audit performed by external audit firm. •Participates in wire transfer process.
•Maintains records in accordance with GAAP.
•Assists with various administrative and special projects within the finance and accounting department.
Required Work Experience: 4-6 years of bank accounting experience. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in bank accounting and bank financial analysis and reporting, including preparation of bank regulatory call reports and knowledge of bank internal controls.
Technology Skills: Demonstrated use of computers, Microsoft Office Suite software, internet and other electronic means to gather and disseminate information; communicate with colleagues and customers; construct and revise Word and Excel documents; and store and retrieve data.

Excellent presentation skills. Ability to take proactive steps in identifying potential risks and managing problems.
Licensing/certification is not required for the position although CPA/public accounting experience is preferred.
