Position Summary: Life Link III’s Director of Finance emphasizes customer focus, collaboration, and innovation in their approach to realizing Life Link III’s mission and values.
The Director of Finance reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works out of Life Link III’s administrative offices in Bloomington, Minnesota. Working collaboratively with the CFO, this role will determine long-term financial goals and develop strategies to achieve financial objectives, allowing Life Link III to live out its mission. Responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and providing leadership for Life Link III’s finance, accounting, and billing departments; oversees internal controls and compliance requirements. The finance, accounting, and billing departments report to the Director of Finance. Lives out the mission and values of Life Link III on a daily basis.
Manage and oversee accounting operations of the company
Evaluate the staffing needs of the department and build the accounting department for Life Link III.
Oversee hiring and daily operations of the accounting area – accounting, inventory and accounts payable
With the Finance & Accounting Manager direct and coordinate monthly financial close, planning and budgeting process
Prepare and assist with special financial and business related analyses, analyzing both product lines and the overall profitability of the business
Monitor and analyze monthly financial statements results and communicate variances to management.
Responsible for implementation of accounting standards
Owns the process for review and revision of all finance and accounting policies
Working with the Finance & Accounting Manager, direct financial audits and provide recommendations for process improvements.
With the Finance & Accounting Manager identify, evaluate and implement cloud-based accounting system
Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to the CFO and finance committee
Manage company cash flow
Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
Maintain open communication with management and audit committee.
Developing and monitoring data and quality metrics (KPIs).
Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax and compliance
Assist with business funding decisions – i.e. valuation and aircraft acquisition.
Oversee annual financial audits
Performs other duties as requested.

Where We Are Located: This opportunity will work out of our Bloomington, MN location.

What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience required with at least seven years of finance and accounting management.
Proven experience at the senior finance level as a finance or accounting director, or other relevant role.
Experience with a complex organization with a strong emphasis on corporate accounting, finance, and operational finance practices and procedures
A thorough understanding of state and federal accounting and financial reporting regulations
Excellent managerial skills with the ability to evaluate the work of others and mentor new employees
Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
MBA, CPA or CGMA preferred
Financial experience in healthcare preferred
Financial experience in aviation preferred
Telecommuting is allowed.

Life Link III was formed in 1985 as one of the first non-profit consortiums in the country to transport critically ill patients by helicopter. The company has always focused on clinical excellence and is an early adopter in bringing new technology to critical care.
