The Controllers Division delivers subject matter expertise, counsel, governance, and oversight for all Wells Fargo controllership activities to the business units and staff groups. The division includes the following functional areas: Accounting Business Unit Support, Accounting Operations, Enterprise Controls & Oversight, Enterprise Financial Reporting, and Corporate Tax.

The External Reporting Broker Dealer Reporting Leader is responsible for the external reporting requirements of Wells Fargo's 5 domestic broker dealers and 1 international broker dealer. This position is responsible for producing timely, accurate and complete external financial reports while maintaining a strong control environment (COSO and Compliance Report Controls).
A candidate for this role must have a strong understanding and knowledge of broker dealers and/or financial institutions, including various departments, businesses, technologies and products common to such organizations. Additionally, a successful candidate will need to partner with other functions throughout the firm (operations, controllers, technology, compliance, risk, etc.) to accomplish strategic reporting initiatives. Candidates for this position also must have a broad knowledge-base in technical accounting, financial statements and broker dealer regulatory reporting.
The External Reporting Broker Dealer Reporting Leader will:
Serves as Reporting Owner for Wells Fargo's broker dealer regulatory and GAAP reports filed with various regulatory entities including: FINRA, SEC, CFTC, and the Federal Reserve (Primary Dealer).
Manage reporting processes to support the Financial and Operations Principals responsibilities relative to compliance with applicable net capital, recordkeeping and other financial and operational rules.
Manage relationships with business partners across Wells Fargo's broker dealers to ensure their complete understanding of financial reports to their lines of business.
Successfully manage relationships with regulators as well as internal and external audits.
Manage effectively in a matrixed organization, create a strong collaborative environment, partnerships with many business and functional areas across Wells Fargo including Corporate Risk, Corporate Treasury, and with team members at all levels of the organization
Drive organizational change and develop innovative solutions
Hire, lead, retain, develop and motivate a world-class team of professionals
Maintain a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency

5+ years of management experience
10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
Demonstrated success managing in a matrixed environment
Other Desired Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant
Senior Accounting Leader with extensive experience supporting large, complex teams and functions
At least 10 years of experience in Financial Services
Extensive experience with and understanding of US GAAP and/or regulatory reporting requirements
Expert understanding of current financial and regulatory requirements
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills combined with strategic business focus
Ability to translate complex technical concepts so they are clearly understood to support sound decisions
Exceptional track record of delivering results
Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization, create a strong collaborative environment, develop partnerships with many business and functional areas across Wells Fargo.
Ability to drive organizational change and develop innovative solutions
Detailed knowledge of COSO and internal control over financial reporting (ICFR)
Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills with the ability to present information in order to create understanding and influence decisions at all levels of an organization
