In conjunction with the Regional CFO, the Regional VP Healthcare Finance Operations provides strategic and operational leadership and direction in the development and implementation of the financial management, budgeting, and accounting and revenue cycle functions of the Mid-Atlantic Region ("the Region"). Develops and executes both short and long-term financial management plans/strategies that will enable the Mid-Atlantic Region Ministries to maximize the potential of their financial resources to meet changes in health care economics and achieve organizational objectives.
Position supports the Executive Team participating in Ministry and Region-wide strategy development, planning and decision-making.
This position is based in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania and oversees 5 hospitals within the region.
Position reports to the Regional CFO with dotted line relationship to the Mid-Atlantic Region CEO and Ministry Presidents.

In collaboration with the Regional CFO and Regional Controller/VP for Financial Reporting, provides leadership direction and oversight in the planning and integration of financial services activities including financial management, budgeting, accounting and revenue cycle; ensures fiscal responsibility and performance of the Mid-Atlantic Region Ministries and Region as a whole.
Position provides leadership and oversight of Financial Analysis. In collaboration with the Regional Controller provides input into Accounting, Disbursements, Decision Support, PNO and Capital operations. Collaborates with System Office Revenue Excellence and is mutually accountable for revenue cycle at each Mid Atlantic Ministry.
Participates in the development of Regional Financial Policies. Supports the Stewardship Committee of the Mid Atlantic Region. Develops and submits timely and accurate financial analysis, Budgets, reports, and other items requiring Board approval.
Participates in the development of Regional fiscal and accounting systems, policies and procedures, and management reporting in accordance with the policies and directives of the Regional Board and generally accepted accounting principles. Recommends changes in Regional fiscal and administrative policies to carry out objectives of each Mid Atlantic Ministry as needed.
Assists the Mid Atlantic Ministry Presidents and Region in the overall operations of the Mid Atlantic Region and with short and long-range planning.
In conjunction with the Regional CFO, oversees the planning, development and implementation of the Mid Atlantic Region annual operating and capital budget plans. Reviews all department requests for capital expense items, remodeling projects, FTEs, supplies and other operating expenses, and submits the same, with recommendations, to the Mid Atlantic Ministry Presidents.
Supports each Ministries Executive Team participates in the development and implementation of the Mid Atlantic Region's strategic plans and operational programs. Provides counsel and advice on financial matters affecting the operations and/or strategic direction of the Region and each Mid Atlantic Ministry. Maintains an awareness of Mid Atlantic Ministry operations identifying present and potential problems and opportunities, and making appropriate recommendations to the Mid Atlantic Ministry Presidents. Coordinates special projects and assignments as directed by the Mid Atlantic Ministry Presidents.
Ensures assigned functions are in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and accrediting agency requirements; initiates corrective action as necessary. Provides input to Federal and State legislators related to the development of policies and regulations that will favorably impact financial reimbursement to the Mid Atlantic Region.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies, and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Hospital/Healthcare experience is required.
Regional experience preferred.
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or HFMA Certification is preferred.
Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in health care finance. Previous managerial experience is required.
