We're seeking a Director of Accounting to establish and lead all aspects of our accounting, audit, tax, and payroll functions and compliance. This role will be a hands-on subject matter expert who can provide leadership and vision for scaling our financial infrastructure to keep up with the demands of Emancipet’s high-growth business.

The Director of Accounting is responsible for:
Partnering with appropriate team members across the organization to build financial discipline to ensure strong performance against strategic, financial, and operational goals, and report to key stakeholders, including the board
Providing guidance and direction to team members through an accounting system transition, navigating this significant change with optimism and positive outcomes
Managing month end close, AP, AR, tax compliance, and financial reporting
Executing payroll - streamlining and managing a complex set of unique payroll functions
Working collaboratively to reach and sustain necessary cash reserves as defined by CFO and board
Leading annual financial audits, filing of Federal 990, tax compliance efforts, and building strong relationships with our auditors and external tax preparers
Developing and implementing effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting
Performing monthly financial statement reconciliations (balance sheet, cashflows, and income statement)
Building and managing a high-performance team, and actively participating in building a culture that is customer-focused and team-oriented

Position preferred in Austin, TX with no relocation offered for this position. Remote work will be considered if you are within driving distance of one of our clinics and are also the accounting unicorn (see above).
