About SC Ventures SC Ventures is a business unit created in Standard Chartered Bank to promote innovation, invest in financial technology and explore alternative business models. It is set up with the vision to "rewire the DNA in banking", to effect a fundamental change in the value proposition of banking to its clients, employees, regulators, and the wider society. It aims to achieve this through its 3 core pillars:

Due to expansion and the launch of new Ventures, 2 new unique opportunities have arisen in the SCV Finance team to help support and drive the business forward.
Role Overview Accounting support for SC Ventures and the SCV Fund under supervision of the CFO of SC Ventures. Will involve liaising with a multitude of stakeholders including; on and offshore SCB teams, Group, external providers and their advisors, new Ventures and the ongoing assessment and set up of new business development.
Responsibilities & Our Ideal Candidate SC Ventures Finance support To assist the SCV Finance team with a variety of central and Venture specific matters notably:
Preparation of monthly management reporting pack and analysis of financials across all SC Ventures areas, incorporating Headcount, P&L and Balance Sheet financials.
Assisting in elements of Project Finance work across SC Ventures, including Clarity set up, monthly uploads, oversight and reporting.
Assisting Finance team in continual development, preparation and analysis of business plans and monthly financials pack for each Venture.
Assisting the Finance team to prepare and submit SC Ventures Corporate Plan and subsequent updates across all Group planning cycles.
Assisting the SCV FC to maintain and update the GFS details of all SCV cost centres, entities and relevant accounts as required.
Working with GFS support team to ensure monthly journals and ad hoc requests are completed.
Working with Venture finance teams and external outsourced providers to obtain and report on Venture financials.
Assisting CFO and FC with Venture operationalisation, including entity creation, capitalisation, process flow and control creation, GFS set up and any other ad hoc requirements.
Assisting with setting up, documenting and monitoring controls - SCM, GL for each Venture as well as setting up entities in SCB reporting systems (e.g. GOLF)
Assisting with integration of third-party service and software providers with SCB systems.
Addressing ad-hoc issues as they arise. There will be an element of market and competitor analysis and well as detailed accounting policy research / technical financial research that will be occasionally required.
Fund Reporting support Serve as primary point of contact to support all process management related to
Expense relating administration for the fund
Coordinate management accounts for fund and GP on a monthly basis
Capital receipts and payments and liaising with group treasury and GCS
Payment authorisations relating to the fund and GP bank accounts Coordinate any corporate secretarial aspects of the fund with GCS and fund administrators and group legal Assisting to resolve any risk and compliance requirements that related to fund reporting requirements Coordinate with the Fund administrators, Investment fund team, valuation control group and finance function to support:
Monthly report preparation
Quarterly report preparation
Annual Financial statement preparation for the GP Ensuring proper housekeeping duties with regards to fund information, filing, archiving, etc Resolve review and query points noted by finance and fund admin teams and ensure they are kept informed of individual progress Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders

Qualified accountant, external audit and bank systems exposure a plus
Degree qualified with prior experience in either performance management, financial planning and analysis, financial and regulatory control and reporting.
Prepared to keep up to date on a wide variety of technical, fintech, regulatory and other matters as these arise.
