Block.one Hong Kong provides software development and consultancy services through its office in Central, Hong Kong. As Block.one scales its offices in Hong Kong and the United States, we are building disruptive solutions based on the latest technological innovations and trends.
To support our fast-paced and expanding business, we require an Accountant to support the core accounts payable, accounting, and financial reporting activities and be a core member of our Group Finance Team, reporting to the Financial Controller.
Handle company wide Accounts Payable duties, journal postings, and bank reconciliation;
Handle ad-hoc bank payments and inter-company fund transfers;
Handle reimbursements for staff expense claims;
Manage monthly prepayment schedules and related journals;
Manage monthly accruals to ensure that proper accruals are made for services delivered;
Assist with month-end closing and reporting;
Closely monitor monthly cash flow movements and advise the Financial Controller of any need for intercompany funding or cash replenishment;
Assist the Financial Controller with ad-hoc assignments as needed
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
ACCA/CPA designation or equivalent required with minimum two years post qualification experience.
Experience in listed/sizeable organizations is preferred, in addition to the ability to adjust to a fast-growing and dynamic start-up environment. Must be willing to take on new challenges and be adaptive to a fast-paced work environment where new business initiatives are frequently introduced.
Detail-oriented with ability to work under pressure and tight schedules with great attitude.
Excellent English communication skills both written and spoken.
Ability to think critically and independently.
Strong MS Excel skills and proficiency in MS office applications.
Experience working with Workday Finance preferred.
Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
Demonstrate flexibility in providing support to the wider Group Finance team when needed.
Demonstrate ability to collaborate across distances and organizational boundaries. Able to work effectively with people from varied professional disciplines and culture.
Able to work in a fluid, changing environments that may be ambiguous and evolving.
Strong interest in, and curiosity for, blockchain, business building, fintech, financial, and social media markets.
An understanding of how start-ups work and an agile mindset.
