Processes business office transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and appropriate G/L coding.
Ensures accuracy of financial records, timely and efficient processing of transactions.
Records accounting transactions in ledgers using financial databases, spreadsheets and software.
Performs account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies particularly for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Compiles and produces accounting reports and summaries including power point presentations.
Assists in audit preparation.
Processes financial aid through FAST on-line platform.
Completes Cal-ISBOA and CAIS annual surveys.
Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services.
Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.
Maintains contact with students, parents, administration, and/or other stakeholders and solicits feedback for improved services.
Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools, planned training and performance initiatives.
Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
Prepares progress reports, informs supervisor of project status, and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.
Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.
Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the Business Office.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Microsoft Office – Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
General Ledger – Strong working knowledge of window-based GL and reporting software packages such as Blackbaud, Great Plains and Peachtree. Exposure to Blackbaud is essential.
Accounting Knowledge – Strong knowledge of financial statement review and analysis, reconciliation skills, debit and credit accounting.
Technology– Strong ability to apply technology solutions and make recommendations for use of technology to improve individual or small work group efficiency and effectiveness.
Problem Solving and Analysis – Strong ability to identify problems, conduct appropriate analysis and reach effective solutions commensurate with level of responsibility.
Office Administration – Strong ability to process paperwork timely, maintain an effective filing system, alphabetic filing, etc.

Required education and experience:
BA in Accounting and 4+ years of related experience preferred
