*Purpose*: To ensure that all accounting records and financial statements meet required accounting standards. To meet all reporting requirements of local, state, and federal agencies. To manage student financial accounts to include financial aid programs, third party contracts and receivables. *Duties and Responsibilities*: * Responsible for the accounting functions of the college's local and federal funds. * Responsible for analyzing, reconciling, and compiling data for preparation of financial statements and reports. * Assures conformance to federal fiscal management regulations for completing accounting and cash management of the college's federal student financial aid. * Manages accounts receivable transactions and activities including the recording and collection of all accounts and loans due the college. * Directs, trains, and supervises work assignments for fiscal technicians on use of Cardinal, AIS, and PeopleSoft SIS. * Acts as assistant to the Business Manager. * Assists in other office operations as required.
*Minimum Qualifications*: * Demonstrate ability to apply and adapt accounting principles * Ability to supervise and give instruction * Strong working knowledge of GAAP * Demonstrate knowledge of spreadsheet applications and accounting software * Ability to work independently * Ability to train and direct work of staff * Excellent written and oral communications skills * Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and reports
