Dept Marketing Statement The Division of Physical and Biological Science's business office is comprised of the Divisional Resources, Research Accounting, and Academic HR group. This position will work primarily with the Research Accounting and Divisional Accounting groups. The Research Accounting unit is responsible for budgetary management, financial planning services and expenditure tracking and reporting of all research funds within the division. The Divisional Accounting unit is responsible for budgetary management and reporting of all permanent, ongoing and non-research related funding. The Division employs over 1100 academics, including faculty, postdocs, grad students and researchers, 197 core staff and over 200 undergrads at any given time. The Division's combined research and operational expenditures are approximately $120 million.
The Business Office Administrative Analyst will be a key part of the business office team located in the Division of Physical and Biological Sciences, performing administrative duties between the research accounting unit and the divisional accounting unit. Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean of Planning and Resource Management, the analyst applies professional concepts, organization and unit policies and procedures, to coordinate and process administrative work related to the funding of appointments of faculty, staff and students within the division. This position requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes as well as the ability to monitor reports and enter data accurately.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary Information: Salary Range: $23.95-$26.34/hour. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Duties 50% - Administers UCPath activities within the business office, which includes finance, payroll, , human resources related duties including tracking position codes, monitoring the UCPath worklist and performing funding entry.
35% - Gathers and analyzes funding and appointment data; duties include, monitoring the suspense report, monitoring appointment and funding end dates, entering and/or approving a subset of actions within UCPath.
10% - Functions as a resource on issues such as position codes and off-cycle pay such as FRA payments, grad division payments, inter- and intra- campus pay and other one time payment entries; processes one time pay requests; coodinates this process between the research accountant and academic HR units. Resolves issues and answers questions of moderate scope and complexity.
5% - Participates in the development and revision of standard operating procedures and guidelines within the scope of work. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Administrative skills and experience related to key responsibilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Ability to work accurately, with interruptions, to meet deadlines.
Experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications, and willingness and ability to learn new systems.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to learn and apply policies and procedures.
