The Role: Chief Financial Officer. The City: Cleveland. The Agency: Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD). The Mandate: To provide leadership, direction, and management of all agency finances and business operations, including accounting, purchasing, budgeting and IT while driving the process for strategic innovation in creating, analyzing and launching strategic initiatives across all departments.

Our Task: We have started our search for a new CFO and our goal is interview the most talented people in this field who are interested in helping us achieve our mission while remaining fiscally responsible. Our new CFO will provide budget alignment and comprehensive strategic planning and direction in the development and implementation of innovative and strategic performance systems including Cuyahoga DD’s strategic and financial plans within all departments by innovation.
But there’s so much more to do. That’s where you come in. The CFO will collaborate internally and externally to identify opportunities derived from Cuyahoga DD’s strategic plan to improve the lives of people living with disabilities and their families in Cuyahoga County. On top of that, the CFO work with the Superintendent and department heads in developing and implementing processes and procedures throughout the Cuyahoga DD to ensure financial planning, along with creating our Annual Plan. In other words, we are looking for a trusted partner to join our leadership team.

Master degree in Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field.
At least five years of progressively responsible experience leading teams and getting results in high-level positions with multi-service local governments.
Experience with strategic analysis across both broad and narrow initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to critically assess financial and strategic impact or programs and activities.
Experience managing Financial and Accounting initiatives with the ability to articulate business needs and develop detailed specifications/project plans.
Administrative and supervisory experience in general account, budgeting, revenue or cost accounting and/or financial reporting, planning, administration, or business management.
A background in marketing, research and development, product development, or strategy is desirable.
Licensed CPA highly desirable.
Valid Ohio Driver's license and an excellent driving record.
