Job Description Summary
Monitor internal control over Financial Reporting. This position develops, maintains, and manages a strong Cost Accounting staff, which will assure that accurate and reliable cost information is generated. This position is responsible for assuring compliance with GAAP and LBCE’s accounting policies/procedures by developing and monitoring control systems involving inventories, standard cost, labor systems, etc., and reviews of these areas. Responsible for reviewing inventory values and inventory transaction to insure accuracy.
 
Essential Job Functions
  1. Supervise and develop cost accounting staff
  2. Develop and maintain controls and procedures that support LBCE’s accounting policies/procedures and GAAP
  3. Annual re-cost process including the responsibility of establishing and assuring new standards are reliable
  4. Monitor and assure prompt month-end closing
  5. Compile cost accounting information needed for annual and revised budgets
  6. Review STD cost change information to determine if we need to adjust
  7. Review and analyze all cost related general ledger accounts and reconcile of general ledger accounts
  8. Maintain internal control over financial reporting
  9. Participate in special projects as assigned

Education       
4-year college degree
 
Program of Study       
Accounting or equivalent
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ cost accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ of supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred
Certification  
  • CPA/CMA preferred
Knowledge      
  • Solid understanding of the cost accounting system and processes
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and GAAP, solid accounting theory base
  • Understanding of the financial reporting mechanisms and financial inter-relationships
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, bill of materials and standard cost knowledge
