We are seeking to recruit a Fund Accountant to work with the Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting team on all aspects of accounting and reporting for the firm’s hedge funds and private credit funds.
Key responsibilities include: Assistance with valuation of Fund’s investments, leveling and verification of support
Portfolio accounting maintenance
Reconciliations between Fund manager and administrator
Fund Operating expense budgeting and accrual maintenance
Verification of capital activity; subscriptions, redemptions and transfers
Economic allocations, including Private Equity waterfall calculations
Verification of management fee and carry/incentive allocation calculations
Assisting with preparation of Fund and Investor portfolio and performance reporting for internal and external distribution
Working with auditors and administrators on audit process, providing support and finalization of audited financial statements
The position will be located in our headquarters in midtown Manhattan.
The ideal candidate will be a CPA with 3-5 years of combined experience within a Big-4 firm and a hedge fund or a private credit fund. A bachelor’s degree is required. Applicants should be self-motivated, detail oriented, possess strong accounting technical knowledge, have a strong understanding of the NAV calculation process and be thoroughly proficient in Excel. Experience working with fund administrators, a basic understanding of booking journal entries, NAV reporting and experience with fund/investment tax structuring is not required but is preferred. Also knowledge of or experience working with Advent’s Geneva portfolio account system is not required, but is a plus.
