Our Risk & Compliance practice provides our clients with a comprehensive suite of consulting and advisory services including (but not limited to): * Internal Control support (i.e. implementation, testing, optimization) * Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance * Risk Management * Regulatory Compliance * Technology Risk * Cybersecurity * Data Analytics * Anti-Fraud & Investigation Services Responsibilities - Participate on project teams providing Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance; Internal Audit Outsourcing/Co-sourcing; and Governance, Risk, and Compliance services
- Develop thorough understanding of business and operational processes, controls, and flow
- Conduct preliminary analysis and risk assessment of assigned operating units or business areas
- Reviewing internal control systems and processes with a focus on best practice standards and frameworks in order to identify gaps and make recommendations to drive process improvement
- Perform walkthroughs with management to assist with the process documentation, including creating/updating narratives, flow charts, and risk control matrices.
- Assist with evaluation and design of internal controls and test the operating effectiveness after period of operation.
- Lead field work audits and prepare SOX work papers to consistently document relevant findings that support conclusions of internal control testing and discuss findings and observations with management
- Work with business process and control owners to develop remediation strategies to address deficiencies in internal controls over financial reporting
- Provide clients with advice to improve and optimize internal controls
- Deliver excellent client service, provide day-to-day client management, and serve as liaison between client and project teams
- Develop client relationships by understanding their business, listening to their needs, and ensuring responsive service and exceptional quality
- Assist Managing Consultants with operational aspects of ongoing projects including planning engagements, developing budgets, monitoring against progress, performing quality control of deliverables, and delivering on schedule
- Collaborate with CrossCountry and client team members regarding business issues and potential solutions
- Foster a spirit of collaboration among team members
- Participate in advancing the Risk practice, including internal initiatives such as recruiting, business development, and knowledge sharing
Qualifications - 3+ years of professional services experience in a client facing audit/SOX/internal controls analysis role at a leading consulting firm, Big Four accounting firm, or commensurate experience
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, information systems, or similar business or technical discipline
- Ability to be a detail-oriented problem solver who works with clients to understand complex processes, document, and embed controls within processes
- Knowledge of audit methodologies and developing key internal audit deliverables, including process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance
- Understanding of commonly used International Professional Practices Framework, including COSO and PCAOB.
- Knowledge of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA's) code of ethics and compliance requirements
- Professionalism and discretion in interacting with executives and clients
