Capable of performing most engagements with little supervision and be capable of serving as the "in-charge" accountant on engagements. All supervisors should have completed the requirements for CPA certification and should be active in some area of community service.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting in the tax area.
Abilities and Duties:
Tax - Prepare all types of income tax returns with little or no supervision by the partner or manager, recognize potential tax problems or opportunities for planning, and be able to effectively use all research tools available.
Expected to manage his or her own time as well as others assigned on the engagement. As the supervisor becomes more experienced, he or she may begin to develop a primary industry or area of service. The ability to manage multiple engagements and the interest and ability to recognize opportunities for practice development indicate readiness for promotion.
Continuing education will be in more advanced areas of tax and may include an emphasis in certain industries.
