The University of Maryland, Baltimore County is recruiting a Director of Management Advisory Services, reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President for Administrative Services. This position is responsible for providing leadership and management of the MAS Department which serves as the audit liaison on all audits, handles financial and operational reviews, participates in fraud investigations, oversees the UMBC Policy website, and creates and conducts training programs on internal controls, fraud, ethics and other compliance issues.
Specific duties include the following:
Represent MAS to the campus community and conduct outreach to make all aware of MAS’ role and available resources and provide assistance related to compliance, ethics and general business practices,
Provide adequate supervision of work of MAS staff inclusive of applicable performance reviews and be responsible for the MAS departmental budget,
Design, conduct and/or direct the completion of a wide range of management and other specialized reviews inclusive of monitoring Procurement card usage to assess the adequacy of internal controls, compliance matters, and effectiveness and efficiency of activities.
Serve as the audit liaison on appropriate audits including the State Legislative Audit and manage the necessary follow-up on implementation of finding recommendations,
Oversee the UMBC Policy Website and ongoing practices,
Plan and conduct the bi-annual campus wide Audit Update meetings with senior leadership, and
Oversee and create/update training programs inclusive of online formats.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in finance, accounting or related field from an accredited institution.
Certified Public Accountant licensure is required.
A minimum of five years (ten preferred) experience in finance/ accounting positions are required.
10 years of experience in finance/ accounting positions strongly preferred
Experience with PeopleSoft management system
State Legislative Audits experience preferred.
