We’re seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to help us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!

What you’ll do:
Processes full cycle semi-monthly and monthly payrolls with external vendors for approximately 500 employees across multiple locations
Manage employee compensation-related actions with HR and Finance
Respond to all questions and requests promptly
Maintain confidentiality in order to preserve employee confidence and protect sensitive data
Follow federal, state, and local legal requirements and company procedures to ensure compliance
Keep up to date on changes in rules and regulations, as well as software upgrades
Provide payroll reports to Finance, HR, and management as requested
Process terminations, garnishments, and other payroll actions in accordance with company policy and state and federal rules and regulations
Prepare off-cycle payrolls for stock option exercises as necessary for compliance with federal tax laws.
Complete payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
Assist with annual audits (financial, worker’s compensation, 401k)
Recommend changes to processes and procedures to increase effectiveness
Cultivate positive working relationships with other team members and departments
What you should have:
At least five years of full-cycle payroll experience within multiple states and jurisdictions (global payroll processing is a plus)
Proficient working knowledge of payroll requirements and state and federal tax codes
Background in Payroll/HRIS systems. UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) preferred.
Understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications (advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills are a plus)
Bachelor’s degree or additional experience/education preferred (Certified Payroll Professional certification is a plus)
