We’re seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to help us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods! What you’ll do: - Processes full cycle semi-monthly and monthly payrolls with external vendors for approximately 500 employees across multiple locations
- Manage employee compensation-related actions with HR and Finance
- Respond to all questions and requests promptly
- Maintain confidentiality in order to preserve employee confidence and protect sensitive data
- Follow federal, state, and local legal requirements and company procedures to ensure compliance
- Keep up to date on changes in rules and regulations, as well as software upgrades
- Provide payroll reports to Finance, HR, and management as requested
- Process terminations, garnishments, and other payroll actions in accordance with company policy and state and federal rules and regulations
- Prepare off-cycle payrolls for stock option exercises as necessary for compliance with federal tax laws.
- Complete payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
- Assist with annual audits (financial, worker’s compensation, 401k)
- Recommend changes to processes and procedures to increase effectiveness
- Cultivate positive working relationships with other team members and departments
What you should have: - At least five years of full-cycle payroll experience within multiple states and jurisdictions (global payroll processing is a plus)
- Proficient working knowledge of payroll requirements and state and federal tax codes
- Background in Payroll/HRIS systems. UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) preferred.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications (advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills are a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree or additional experience/education preferred (Certified Payroll Professional certification is a plus)
