The Initial Review Date for this job is: 02-23-2021 Dept Marketing Statement The Payroll Division provides technical and professional payroll and accounting services to the Santa Cruz Campus of the University of California. The payroll function has been decentralized to each campus, with Office of the President UCPath staff providing the computerized payroll system. The Campus Payroll Operations has the responsibility to operate within the policies and procedures established by the Office of the President along with Federal, State and Local laws. Job Summary This position is under the general supervision of the Payroll Operations Director, and is responsible for a variety of accounting and payroll related functions. Provides consultation, training and liaison for more than 100 payroll personnel representatives located in campus departments, Staff Human Resources and Academic Personnel Offices. Responsible for interlocation and intralocation MLA's and transfers. Provides support and analysis to Payroll Accountant 3 related to Glacier Non-Resident Alien Statuses. Processes off-cycle check requests and handles PayCard Administration. Provides analysis and auditing of UCPath Payroll reports for departments. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary Information: Salary Range $55,000 - $60,000/anually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience. Other complex matters include ensuring vacation, leave of absence, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc., are appropriate and deduction amounts are calculated and applied correctly to the various accounts. 25% Applies payroll concepts to perform complex analysis regarding pay processing adjustments, including retroactive pay, tax withholding, and overpayments. 10% Works with departments to identify special pay-processing requirements for timekeeping payroll and other ancillary payroll systems and programming. 5% Verifies compliance with federal and state payroll requirements. 5% Participates in audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation. 5% Researches, identifies, and corrects invalid pay postings. 5% Documents payroll processes and procedures. 5% Coordinates, trains, and advises payroll staff and administrators on inter-organization payroll payments.
