Ohio Wesleyan University ( www.owu.edu ) is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and is located just 20 miles north of Columbus. This position reports to the Controller, is a 12-month, full-time, 37.5 hour per week position, with full benefits. Position Summary: Primary liaison between the Accounting Department and the Purchasing Department and performs the day-to-day functions associated with Accounts Payable. This position also performs various financial and accounting activities and assists in preparing for the annual external audit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: prepare invoices and disbursements for weekly check run, perform reconciliation steps associated with the accounts payable process, monitor status of in processes purchases, review vendor statements, correspond with vendors, communicate with campus community, facilitate process improvement projects related to accounts payable automation, assist in implementing a year end invoice collection process, prepare and record journal entries, integrate data files into accounting module, process cashiering transactions, perform account reconciliations, report unclaimed funds to the State, and assist in preparing for the annual external audit. Other duties as assigned in support of the accounting department.
