Our FP&A team pulls together our financials, reports sales and other metrics, and analyzes our business performance in partnership with our executive teams. We also prepare the presentations for executive leadership team and the Board of Directors.
We are looking for an outstanding Manager with expertise in financial modeling and financial analysis. Someone who is a problem-solver and an excel genius!
This position reports to the Director or FP&A and is remote within the NYC Metro area.
The FP&A Manager will work with the Financial Planning & Analysis team and be heavily involved in budgeting, forecasting, analyses, and preparation of various reports, including, sales reporting, monthly reporting, as well as help with ad-hoc reporting, special projects and various expense analyses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare annual P&L budgets, partnering with various leaders within the Company and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Partner with department leaders across the company, conduct meetings to review completed templates, and ensure alignment with guidelines provided.
Compile net sales and work closely with planning teams to calculate gross margins
Prepare various reports and analysis tools
Assist in the preparation of presentations for executive leadership team and the Board of Directors
Supervise and participate to the preparation of monthly P&L forecasts, organizing and compiling data into various reports
Prepare weekly cash forecasts
Assist in the preparation of long-range plans, including 5 Year Plan
Assist with various ad-hoc reports and analyses, including pro-forma reports and business models, providing executive leadership with tools for decision-making
Partner with IT and Operations, create and validate reports in various systems including Management Reporter (Solomon), MI9, MicroStrategy BI, ShopperTrak, Blue Cherry etc. to ensure data accuracy and uniformity
Supervise daily/weekly/monthly sales reporting, reviewing for accuracy and ensuring timeliness
Supervise monthly consolidated financial statement package, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement
Prepare detailed variance analyses for gross margin and expense categories, ensuring accuracy of monthly close as well as identifying areas for savings/expense reductions for forecast
Act as a “budget partner” to various heads of department across the company, conducting meetings to review monthly/annual results and expense details, discussing variances and related information relevant to forecasts, expense categorization, etc.
Review by-channel store performance in detail with the Director of Stores and COO, identifying areas of risk and gathering information to incorporate into variance analysis commentaries
Prepare reports and communications to external parties to which we have standing reporting requirements/requests (Banks, vendors)
Coach and mentor a FP&A Analyst
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
5-7 years of experience with demonstrated FP&A and / or accounting experience, preferably in retail / consumer goods
Strong financial modeling skills, & analytical skills and a very high level of comfort with Excel and PowerPoint, ERPs and planning systems
Passionate about using data to drive business decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized, rigorous and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high energy environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently and is resourceful, creative and time sensitive juggling multiple projects for challenging deadlines
Able to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment
Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach and develop talent
